One of the things N and I have been doing to try and stay connected to the pregnancy is sending music to B to listen to for the baby. Well, this weekend...we bought belly buds for B and we've been recording our voices reading books, singing, etc. I know supposedly the babies don't actually hear anything until a little later on in the pregnancy...but it's nice to help me feel like we're a part of the whole thing. (We're reading Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein books...and I'm singing whatever song I feel like.)
What have any of you done to stay connected?
We used Bellybuds to play music and Daddies voices for the twins and I think it made such a difference. The babies recognized the familiarity of the voices after they were born which warmed my heart... And my personal opinion is that it's never to early to begin talking/reading to your baby.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
Thanks! It's weird hearing your voice in the recording! But I really hope it makes a difference!
DeleteWe also recorded our dog barking! I mean, he barks a LOT :)

OMG....We definitely need to do that. Our one dog doesn't bark alot necessarily, but he gets spooked easily and will then start a barking episode. How has your dog been accepting the baby? We're slightly worried about that with one of ours... Would love any tips/tricks!
DeleteI send weekly belly pictures to my IPs. They love them. I started about 10 weeks so they could have something to compare to when I really started to grow.
ReplyDeleteI also describe where their boys are kicking me every few days:) It's nice to keep them up to speed on how the movement has been changing as well. All things to reassure them that everything is ok and share in the fun.
